Workshop: Designing with Spring Flowers
Saturday May 30, 2026
2-4 PM
Location: Janaki Larsen Studio - 1706 W 1st Ave, Vancouver
Celebrate the arrival of spring and the return of the local flower season. In this in-person workshop, we’ll highlight the very best of the season, from lush peonies to vibrant spring flowers including anemone, ranunculus, poppies and flowering branches, all thoughtfully sourced through our trusted network of local growers and specialty suppliers. Together, these elements create a cohesive and inspiring palette of colours, textures, and natural materials to design with.
Throughout the session, you’ll learn how to design with these blooms, layering them with complementary ingredients while gaining practical knowledge on flower care and design techniques from our experienced design team.
Guided by our signature freestyle approach to floral arranging, you’ll be encouraged to work intuitively—embracing movement, balance, and personal expression in your designs. This process is both relaxed and exploratory, allowing space to connect with the materials and develop your own creative floral style.
Each participant will create a large, in-vase arrangement to take home, using the season’s finest blooms while discovering and refining their unique floral style.
This workshop is open to all levels, join us for a hands-on, immersive experience rooted in seasonality, creativity, and the joy of working with flowers.
Please note: images shown are examples of past work in the style we’ll be teaching. Specific materials and colour palettes will vary based on seasonal availability.
